CARVED IN SALT

My friend Mitch Hull is something of a renaissance man, excelling at every endeavor he puts his hand to. Not only is he the mastermind behind Rapture Brewing (Beers in the Valley, Veer Beer, The Jeff Stout), and the organizer-in-chief of the first ever Fracassi Fest (an amazing event that most attendees survived), he has now launched Rapture Publishing, and I am beyond honored to have my short story Carved in Salt as the first official release.

These oversized chapbooks are available in both numbered and lettered states, all signed by me and cover artist/author extraordinaire Chris Panatier. Mitch’s attention to detail, care, and love is so evident in every aspect of these beautiful chapbooks.

Unfortunately, I’ve been so busy editing a novel and writing a new book (top secret project) that I completely neglected sending out a newsletter to let everyone know the chapbooks are for sale. The lettered edition and art print are currently sold out, but there is still a limited quantity of the numbered edition left.

NIGHT OF THE LONG KNIVES

With every novel, there’s a strange period of…disconnection, I guess. After spending so much time with the story it’s difficult to see it objectively. And I don’t really know if a writer can ever view their work objectively anyway. But there’s this wilderness of time after the edits are done, but before the book is published. It’s typically during this period that I start to get excited. Night of the Long Knives is no different. Paul Miller and I have been hard at work finalizing the interior artwork, the dust jacket etc. and I cannot wait for this book to officially be out in the world.

It’s a story about cults, serial killers, a museum of death, cursed objects, mythology, a hidden world, and the invisible threads that connect the worst events throughout history.

The novel will be published by Earthling Publications in a gorgeous limited edition with an introduction by Ronald Malfi and artwork by Vincent Chong. I hope you’ll check it out.

TURN UP THE SUN - DARK ROOM SERIES Update

First of all, my continued gratitude for everyone’s patience while I worked to make sure the deluxe, limited edition sets of Turn Up the Sun were as good as they can be.

I’ve managed to ship out almost all of the orders, with the exception of a couple due to another batch of misprints. The printer has sent replacements, and I’ll complete all outstanding orders as soon as I have them.

I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported the Dark Room Series, and I’m looking forward to publishing additional volumes in the future.

If you’re interested, there are only 4 sets left before they are sold out. These unique editions will never be reprinted, and purchasing a set now guarantees you future volumes of The Dark Room Series.

WRITING UPDATES

A new, very Bradbury-Twilight Zone influenced short story just sold to a dream outlet. More on that when I can share.

I’m editing / rewriting a new novel called Full Fathom Five. It’s a big one.

I just finished the first draft of a top secret project that I’ll announce when I get the thumbs up from the publisher.

After editing this new book, I’ll start on another top secret project. I know, it’s annoying, but what can I do?

Later this year/early next year will have a bunch of exciting announcements, and I promise to send them out in the newsletter first.
