You may not have seen it in the news, but in the dark corners of the internet, whispered back and forth between the more conspiratorially minded, are rumors of an “event” taking place in the Pacific Ocean just off the coast of Maui.
What kind of event, you ask? Well, I really can’t say too much, other than to caution you it might have a very profound impact on the future.
If you want to know more, I suggest checking out my newest book, Heavy Oceans, available now from Dark Lit Press.
This short novel is a pedal to the metal ride straight into the unknown. Think The Mist meets Nope, in the middle of the ocean with a big dose of The X-Files…but the opening of an episode before Mulder and Scully begin investigating. In fact, those two should probably look into the events described in this book.
You can get the book from all the regular places, all located helpfully in this one link:
Or…if you prefer, here is the link to order the paperback from Amazon:
And the ebook:
I also have a limited number of signed paperbacks available from my website store, along with all my other books.
Hardcover + Audiobook
Within the next week or so, the book will also be published in hardcover and audiobook, if you prefer either of those formats. I’ll be sure and send out a link once those are available.
Early Reviewers
I’d like to give a special “thank you” to all those who read (or listened) to this book over the last couple months and left reviews. What a thrill to see the reaction from readers, some in real time!
Every writer has a head full of dreams, and maybe none so important as the dream that someone will read your stories and connect with them. Not just on a surface level, but that special kind of hypnosis in which the characters feel almost like people you know, or used to know, and a space opens up in the work where we (as readers) bring our own experiences to the table and transform the story into something that can only exist between reader and book.
So…a heartfelt thanks to all of you who read the book, who left a review, who spread the word.
If you haven’t yet read Heavy Oceans, I hope it cranks up your heart rate and makes you think twice before going out on the ocean at night. The water is choppy out there.
Onward.
